Jack Thurston Farrell
Jack Thurston Farrell was born and raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin west of Milwaukee. He graduated in
December 2001 from the University Of Wisconsin at Madison with a major in Radio Television and Film.
After graduation he traveled to Vietnam to assist on a promotional video for Project Vietnam. He then
moved back to Milwaukee and freelanced as a copywriter while working as an assistant producer at an
ABC affiliate. In May 2004, Jack took a job as a freelance writer for Fox News and moved to Chicago.
He enrolled in a writing and acting program at The Second City as well as an improv acting program at
I.O. On July 27th, 2005 while improv acting at I.O., he suffered an aortic aneurism. He recovered in
Chicago for three months then moved back to Milwaukee to finish his recovery and rehabilitation. In
2006, he moved back to Chicago and enrolled in an advertising program at The Chicago Portfolio School.
After graduating from both the I.O.improv program (sans aortic dissection) and The Chicago Portfolio
School, he worked as a freelancer in advertising and began a short video website (shortvision.com) which
he writes and directs. In 2009, Jack began writing, performing and co-directing a web series called dollop
(dollop.tv). He continues to perform improv, screenwrite, teach and write sketch comedy. He resides on
the
North side of Chicago. He
enjoys fun.
